April has 14 years of violin teaching experience and 3 years experience since receiving her Suzuki Teacher Training at the University of Alaska at Fairbanks. She enjoys teaching all ages from 3 years through adult. She has had over 10 years of piano training and incorporates her keyboard knowledge into her lessons when helpful for students.

April has held a Bachelors Degree in Violin Performance from Pensacola Christian College since 2016. She has had years of orchestral experience. April was an active member of the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra in Fairbanks, AK from 2017-2020. She was also the concertmaster of the Moore Philharmonic Orchestra from 2012-2013. April has performed as a member of orchestras for several musicals, operas, and Cantatas to include 1776, Guys and Dolls, The Messiah, Pagliacci, and more. Fiddling has also been a part of April’s musical journey. She was an active member Kris Youman’s bluegrass band in 2009 and continued jamming with other bluegrass musicians until 2011.

April focuses on the fundamentals, especially for beginners. Being comfortable with the instrument is important to fully enjoying practice and the overall musical experience. April looks forward to sharing her music and knowledge with others.
