Anna Lugbill, violin, graduated from University of Colorado at Boulder in 2023 with a Master’s in Violin Performance and certificate in Arts Administration. In 2020, Anna graduated with a B.M. in Music Education under the study of Calvin Wiersma.

During the 2020-2021 school year, Anna was the 7/8th grade orchestra director at Transit Middle School in Buffalo, NY. She’s had years of experience teaching students privately in addition to her school teaching experience. During her undergraduate years, Anna was very involved with the American String Teachers Association. She served as Ithaca College’s ASTA chapter secretary and presented at the ASTA Orlando conference with her fellow executive board members.

Anna is also a certified Suzuki Violin Books 1 and 2 teacher. She was a Suzuki student herself, starting at age four. Anna incorporates the Suzuki methods into her teaching style. She also likes to use method books, duets, and fiddle tunes, among other popular songs in her teaching. She works collaboratively with her students to find music they enjoy playing.

Anna has also had extensive performance experience. She performed with the National Orchestral Institute at University of Maryland for two summers. Anna also is a member of the Greeley Philharmonic and subs with the Boulder Philharmonic, Boulder Chamber Orchestra, Boulder Symphony, and Cheyenne Symphony. She’s had the opportunity to perform in masterclasses for James Ehnes, Rachel Barton Pine, Juliana Athayde, and Jennifer Ross. She also had the opportunity to perform at Lincoln Center with the Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra.

Anna is both a passionate teacher and performer. She enjoys sharing her love for music with others and hopes to help create lifelong musicians through her teaching.
