Andrew Dawydchak has demonstrated a passion for performing and commitment for teaching that surpasses his young years.  Andrew is currently completing his second year at Humber College in the Music Degree Program (Violin) and has successfully completed Unit Two Suzuki Teacher Training.  Andrew has demonstrated how his classical training as a Suzuki student can intertwine with a passion for folk, fiddle, Celtic and jazz music.  He has studied with Margot Jewell who he credits for nurturing, guiding and encouraging his passion for different kinds of music to flourish.  He currently studies with Drew Jurecka. He has taken SOSI masterclasses with Brian Lewis, “a south paw” like himself and has also attended many summer music fiddle camps in the past.
While initially volunteering his time to coach fiddle to the students at ESM, it has now become a popular and permanent ESM Fiddle Enrichment Class because of high demand. He also teaches students privately at his home in Etobicoke. Students like his positive, gentle, patient and guided approach to helping them improve their playing.
Andrew is no stranger to the stage.  He is the Canadian Open Junior Fiddle Champion for 2015 and winner of many top honour fiddle awards since 2005 including the Ontario Open, Southwestern Open, Northern Ontario Open and Maritimes and many others for his age category and duet categories.  He is recipient of the Best Intermediate violinist NYMF (2013) and Summerfolk Youth Discoveries Showcase winner (2012).  He performs regularly with his family band and other musicians. is where you can go to find out what he is up to!!
He is excited to be recently endorsed by Pirastro Musiksaiten, his favourite strings of choice. When not performing or teaching Andrew can be found perfecting his swing on the golf course in summer or playing hockey and instructing skiing in winter.
