Violin, Suzuki in the Schools Teacher, Administrator / Teacher Trainer
Amy Rosen is a String Teacher in the Mamaroneck (NY) Public Schools for the past 35 years. In addition, she is the Director of the Hudson River School of Music. In Mamaroneck, Ms. Rosen conducts two elementary orchestras as well as teaching over 200 students. At HRSM, she is the Director of the Westchester Suzuki Institute; is in charge of the Quartet Program and teaches violin. Ms. Rosen is a certified SAA Teacher Trainer and has been a clinician at many Suzuki workshops. She is active in the Westchester County School Music Association as an Adjudicator and Orchestra Chairperson and NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association.) Ms. Rosen received a BA from Carnegie-Mellon University and an M.Mus. in Performance from Manhattan School of Music. Her Suzuki Teaching Certificate was awarded by The School For Strings (NYC).
Ms. Rosen has been a String Editor for both Carl Fischer and Kendor publishing companies. Ms. Rosen has had numerous publication of her own string orchestra arrangements and a number of string etude books. Her article, “The Suzuki Method in the Public Schools,” was printed in the Suzuki Association Journal.
