Amy Lillegard grew up in Monett, MO. She started violin at the age of 3 at the local Suzuki school. Amy graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2001 with her Bachelors of Music Education. She then graduated from The Hartt School of Music in 2006 with her Masters of Violin Performance emphasis in Suzuki Pedagogy. There she studied with Linda Fiore and Emlyn Ngai. Amy has over 20 years teaching experience. She has taught at The Suzuki Music School of Arkansas, The Sun Foundation Suzuki Music School in Peoria, IL, The Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts in Torrington, CT, and The Suzuki Music School of Westport in Westport, CT. Amy has also co-founded the Suzuki Strings of Redmond in Redmond, WA. Most recently she moved to Nashville, TN where she operates her own studio, Wilson Suzuki Studio of Nashville. Amy has also taught at the Ogontz Suzuki Institute in NH, Association de Suzuki de Violin winter workshop in Puerto Rico, The Intermountain Suzuki Strings Institute in Salt Lake City, UT & The Japan-Seattle Suzuki Institute in Seattle, WA.
