Amélie Roberts is a violinist/violist who is passionate about the power of music. An alumna of the Winnipeg Youth Orchestras, Ms. Roberts has performed in the University of Manitoba Symphony Orchestra, the University of Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Ottawa Pops Orchestra. As a freelance musician, highlights have included collaboration with Canadian singer/songwriter JP Hoe, and playing for musical theatre productions in the Manitoba Theatre for Young People pit orchestra. As a teacher, Amélie has taught for Sistema Winnipeg and Suzuki Music Winnipeg. Ms. Roberts holds a Bachelor of Music degree in viola performance from the University of Ottawa, where she studied under the tutelage of Michael van der Sloot. Amélie has studied Suzuki pedagogy with Karen Kimmett and Paule Barselou. When she isn’t practicing, Amélie enjoys commuting by bike, hanging out in coffee shops, and getting lost in a good book.
