Iain Macpherson

Mr. Macpherson holds a Bachelor of Music in vocal performance from Wilfrid Laurier University, an Artist Diploma and a Bachelor of Education, both from the University of Toronto. A faculty member and school coordinator of Ottawa Suzuki Strings, Mr. Macpherson teaches both Suzuki voice and violin. He continues to play with the Kanata Symphony Orchestra as concertmaster, a position he has held since 2006. He enjoys teaching students of all ages in his Gatineau and Ottawa studios, and has directed children and adult choirs.

Iain also performs as a tenor in recital, oratorio and opera across Canada, and has been an invited soloist to Bermuda, as well as in several performances of Handel’s Messiah. He has also performed as a leading tenor with Ottawa’s 17 Voyces, Thirteen Strings and the Kanata Symphony Orchestra.
