Event Description
Young children learn through their senses. This tenant fueled the approach of Montessori education. Together with the revolutionary Suzuki Method™ and adding the element of Imagination, I created this sensory approach to fast-track the learning of Suzuki Book I and to secure a time-honored piano technique that works into the most advanced literature. Using contents of the carefully developed Technique Toolbox™ participants will engage in a lively, interactive hands-on approach at the piano as they are guided in how to present advanced piano technique to their students from the very beginning throughout Suzuki Volume I.
After registration is completed, each Teacher Workshop Participant will be emailed and asked to assemble some simple, common household items to practice at the piano as tools are presented.
What is technique and its purpose: To produce an appropriate tone with beauty, depth, ease of motion, and efficiency. Essential mainstream technique, agreed upon for centuries, will be presented using tiny toys. Each one is designed to delight and develop one of the foundational skills in Book I.
