Book two training at the University of North Florida is built around the Jacksonville Cello Workshop with guest clinician Richard Aaron. (www.jaxcelloworkshop.org)

Thursday January 31st 8:00-8:30 pm, hand in book 2 observations and discuss weekend schedule
Friday February 1st 8:30-10:30 am, Training
Saturday February 2nd, 5:30-7:00 pm, Training
Sunday February 3rd, 1:00-8:00 pm, Training
Monday February 4th, 8:00-12:00pm
Course is partially funded by the UNF Cello Fund/UNF School of Music

Prerequisite course:

Cello Unit 1

Audition: Cello Basic, or Cello Intermediate, or Cello Comprehensive.

Deadline: All audition materials must be submitted by January 31 *
*A discounted Audition Fee applies if audition is submitted before December 6. If submitted within 8-weeks of the course start date, the regular audition fee will apply.

Trainer Information

Avi Friedlander

Avi Friedlander, Cello, is the director of the Barston Suzuki Center at the Music Institute of Chicago, a teacher trainer and founder and former director of Suzuki Talent Education Program of Birmingham. He received his Master’s and Bachelor’s of Music performance degrees from The University of Michigan, and pursued his professional studies degree from The Cleveland Institute of Music. Mr. Friedlander is the former Assistant Principal cellist of the Atlanta Opera, former member of The New World Symphony and former Adjunct Professor of Cello at Emory University in Atlanta. He has been trained in Suzuki Methods with Dr. Tanya Carey, Pam Devenport, Rick Mooney and Gilda Barston.
