Additional Schedule Information

To fulfill the SAA requirement of 8 days for Teacher Training Book 1, participants for Teacher Training Book 1 will start on Sunday, July 8 from 2:00pm—5:00 pm(observation) and from 7:30pm to 8:30pm (classroom). During the week, Book 1 Teacher Trainers will follow the student schedule. Book 1 Teacher Training continues on Saturday, July 14 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m and  Sunday, July 15 9:00 a.m. concluding at 4:00 p.m

Prerequisite course:

Every Child Can!, or Filosofía

Audition: Violin Basic, or Violin Intermediate, or Violin Comprehensive, or Viola Basic, or Viola Intermediate, or Viola Comprehensive.

Deadline: All audition materials must be submitted by June 28 *
*A discounted Audition Fee applies if audition is submitted before May 13. If submitted within 8-weeks of the course start date, the regular audition fee will apply.

Trainer Information

Kathleen Spring

Kathleen Spring, a 1974 graduate of Walla Walla University, has also studied at the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, Vienna with Eduard Melkus and with Alan Bodman at Washington State University. She received a M.Mus. in Violin performance with James Maurer from the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver.
Honors include the ASTA Outstanding Studio Teacher Award for Washington State,1996. Con Brio, her Jr. Hi. string ensemble performed at the Washington MENC convention, 1998. Currently, the studio’s advanced performance group, Spring String, performs in the Denver Metro area and tours regionally and internationally.
A registered Teacher Trainer, Kathleen teaches workshops in North America and has guest taught in both Europe and Asia. She also teaches Suzuki Violin Pedagogy at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music while maintaining an active studio.
