Every Child Can! logoEvery Child Can! an introductory course on the Suzuki philosophy and its application to education. For parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. For teachers, ECC serves as the first course in the Suzuki Association of the Americas Teacher Development Program. To learn more, read about the ECC course and its guidelines.

Trainer Information

Janet (Libby) Armour

Libby Armour is a Suzuki violin and piano instructor with a private studio in Memphis, Tennessee, an adjunct professor at the University of Memphis, teaching Suzuki Pedagogy, and the violin instructor at the University of Mississippi. After high school, she went to Matsumoto, Japan to study at the Talent Education Institute. For two years she studied with Dr. Shinichi Suzuki, founder of the Suzuki Method, and Dr. Haruko Kataoka, piano Master Teacher. In 1980 she performed a double graduation recital and received endorsement by Dr. Suzuki to teach his Method on both instruments. She earned a degree in this country as well and has been teaching since her return. She is a certified Teacher Trainer for the Suzuki Association of the Americas. Besides private teaching, she directs the Toscanini Chamber Ensemble, which performs widely. . She has taught and performed throughout the United States, in Japan, and in Europe.
