Trainer Information
Derek Deakins is a fiddler, violinist, and registered Suzuki violin teacher originally from Kingsport, Tennessee. His musical journey began with Suzuki violin lessons at age five and has taken him around the world as a professional musician. Derek has performed all over the world in venues ranging from Madison Square Garden to the Grand Ole Opry.
Derek graduated from Belmont University (B.M. in Instrumental Music Education) and East Carolina University (M.M. in Orchestral Conducting). Derek has performed with major recording artists including The Osborne Brothers, James Monroe, Mac Wiseman, Charlie Daniels, and Blake Shelton. He has made several television appearances and four solo recordings.
When Derek is not teaching private lessons or performing, he is playing guitar and singing in his bluegrass and acoustic trio called Gravel Road. Visit for more information. www.derekdeakins.com
