Can anyone recommend a nice duet for a Suzuki Piano student, (currently at the end of Book 2) and a Suzuki Violin student beginning book 4?
It can be non-suzuki repetoire or a suzuki song.

How about any of the Bach Minuets or the Gavotte from piano Book 2? I believe those are both in the violin repertoire somewhere, although likely not as advanced for the violinst. Still, great review for the violinist, and a chance to play with a partner.

Hm, now that I think about it, it’s probably not all that different than what the violinist is used to in terms of playing with an accompanist. But in any case, those pieces are common to both players, and in the same key too. It would be a great experience to learn to play musically together, really listening to the phrasing and lines and feeding off each other.

If their reading skills are OK, there are also some great piano/violin duets in the Suzuki “Home Concert” book. They are lovely pieces, ranging from about Book 2 to 5 piano playing level (just my best estimate, this isn’t anything official), and completely different from the usual Suzuki repertoire. If it’s not available in your local music store, I’m sure you could find it on Amazon or something.

Thank you so much, I will try looking for the Home Concert Book!
