Para tocar um instrumento e também para qualquer outra atividade é preciso muita atenção à postura corporal.

To play an instrument and also for any other activity it is necessary much attention to body posture.

I totally agree Maria.

I would be interested to hear how you help your students to achieve this.

I set them teaching points and make up games to help them to remember before playing.

Hi Sue Hunt , how are you? Nice to talk to you!

I believe that the first step in this process is the example of the teacher and the parents. In general, the child imitates adults in all situations, including posture.

I have the habit of calling students’ attention all the time during the lessons: please focus on your feet on the floor, relax your neck, head up and forward, sit with your isquios, relax your shoulders. If suddenly my feet are not well placed on the floor, they notice and tell me affectionately, I am grateful.

With the permission of the child and parents, I usually use my hands to straighten the spine and head, as well as the arms of the students to try to find the best position to seat ,stand, and play.

In general, I do not see students complaining of back or arm pains, and I indicate to parents whenever possible Alexander Technique classes, or Eutonia and also Yoga and Pilates for better body awareness.

Thank you very much for the contact !!
