Hello, Suzuki teachers and parents!

I would like to give away ten or more books this month! If you are interested, read further…

“From Suzuki to Mozart” captures the fascinating history behind each piece in the Suzuki violin repertoire. Find out which composer was almost buried alive, which piece was written as an homage to “African Plantation Dances” and who had a monopoly on song in France from the king himself. Even the table of contents is meant to be instructive—it has the full names and dates of each composer. Each piece has its own page, with sections dedicated to general music history and group lesson games.

“From Suzuki to Mozart” is a reference book that is appropriate for both teachers and Suzuki parents. If you are interested in finding a history book for your studio, or just want your child to have a more rounded musical education, please send me a message!

PS. While this book is available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle, I can only send a paperback.

What fortunate timing! This semester we are beefing up on our composers and history as we play and present our pieces to each other in the studio. I missed the boat last time, hope I have a shot this time around! :)

I actually downloaded this for my Kindle app recently, and I am really enjoying it! I was just telling someone today about “Long, Long Ago” being a popular song in the 19th century. :-) (I am a Suzuki piano teacher, but my daughter studies Suzuki violin and there is a lot of overlap in the early repertoire between piano and violin.)

I would love a paperback copy if you still have some to give away. Thank you very much for the offer!

Hello Hadley,

I don’t think I’m in the first ten, but I also would love a copy.

I am planning to do comprehensive parent outreach on my website and this sounds like something to reference and recommend.
