For the last few years I have been giving away history books through the Suzuki forum, and now I have a new idea. In the next few years I want to give four books away per month until I have given one to a teacher in all 50 states! So, if you do not already have one and are interested in a copy of “From Suzuki to Mozart,” please send me a message and you may get one in the mail! I can get addresses from the Suzuki directory.

“From Suzuki to Mozart” is a history of almost every piece in the Suzuki violin repertoire. It is meant for teachers and parents, but older students might be interested as well. It has been licensed by the International Suzuki Association as an official publication and is only available to purchase through Amazon.com.

Hi, Hadley. I don’t live in any of the 50 states. I live in Uruguay, South America and teach Suzuki violin and viola in Punta del Este. It costs a bit extra to mail something here, but if you can, the address is:

Kurt Meisenbach
Fraccionamiento Las Silvias, Chacra La Diva
Maldonado, Uruguay 20003

Many thanks!

I’m in MA and would love to have this book! I am just now doing Suzuki book 1 training after many years of teaching and performing, and was fascinated to learn how Suzuki designed even the Twinkles to prepare for, say, the Bach Double. Thank you for your consideration.

This is a great idea! I’m really interested in history and like to tell students a but about the music they are playing. I’d love one of these books and more information as well. I recently moved, so my address isn’t current, but my email and phone is still the same so you could contact me that way.

This is great! I have lots of addresses to send books to. What I think I will do is put all of the names down that have responded, and then send them as I am able. So you may get a book in three weeks or one in five months :).

For those of you with Amazon Prime, you can borrow the electronic version through their Kindle Unlimited lending library. It’s an old edition, but most of the information is the same. I think that you can borrow it for a month for free.

Hi, Hadley!

I would love to have a copy of your book to share with the string teachers in the Asociación Suzuki del Peru (S. America) where I live and teach—that way more teachers and students could benefit for your valuable information. You could send the book to me, Roberta Centurion, 287 Spring Road, Grantville, PA 17028 and I could pick it up in late June or July when I travel to the USA to visit my mother.
Thanking you so much for your kind offer.
Sincerely,
Roberta

Hello Hadley, greetings from Central America.

I think it’s really important to share and discuss with our students the whole context of a piece, so they can really know, feel, make it their own and express what the author really wanted, while playing it with domain and knowledge.

I’d love to read your book, and share with my students and colleagues.
I’m a Suzuki Teacher in Guatemala City.

Let me know if you can also send me a copy, I’d highly aprecciate that. It doesn’t matter if I have to wait 6 or 12 months, I’d be thanked with all my heart.

Here’s my adress:
Blvd. Hospital Militar Santa Amelia IV casa 124 zona 17, Guatemala Ciudad, 01017, Guatemala, Centroamérica

Thank you,
Take care,

Mariana

It should arrive on the 8th! You can tell your students who want it that it’s available through amazon.com in regular paper book form as well as Kindle. Folks who have Amazon prime can get it for free for a month through the Kindle lending library (everyone has it here in Seattle—I’m not sure how representational that is of the entire US!). Thanks! Enjoy!

Thank you so much! Here in Indiana, I don’t think we have the privilege of reading it free on Kindle unless we have Kindle Unlimited. But I’m so looking forward to reading it.

Thanks again!
