Looking for advice and support to sustain the only free Suzuki violin program in Detroit. Our kickstarter ends Dec 30th. Once funded by a suburban Suzuki program, now in our own. We provide 25 weeks of free private lessons and group classes to 23 students aged 5-17. Also provide violins/maintenance, music books, safe rehearsal space, after school snacks, performance outfits, monthly gas gift card for parents or shuttle transportation as needed. Paying myself to direct 30 hrs a week, the 3 teachers (includes me) and for the transportation is the hardest to fund. Grants for materials easy to come by so that’s not a problem but transportation is the key to accessibility! Any advice from other programs out there?
