Hi everyone. Has anyone taken a practicum? I’m living abroad and I need to take one so I can qualify with the ESA. What institutes have offered violin practicums in the past? Also, are there any SAA institutes that do ESA training?

Thanks, help greatly appreciated!

So far as I know, SAA and ESA training are not officially interchangeable. If a summer program has an ESA teacher trainer, that might be what you’re looking for?

A good way to find out when/where a Practicum is being offered is to use the Events tab, my guess is that next summer’s program info will start showing up on the Events tab by January 2015. My guess is that the largest institutes will offer it almost every year, and the smaller ones may not offer it if they offered it last year…

I took violin Practicum at the American Suzuki Institute a few years ago. According to the ASJ Vol 42#2, Violin practicum was offered this past summer at the Colorado Suzuki Institute, the Greater Pittsburgh Suzuki Institute, the Intermountain Suzuki String Institute, and the American Suzuki Institute.
