Hi Jeri!!
I am looking for a female roommate at the world conference.
If you would like any of my references, I am a teacher trainee with Jane Kutchner Reed of Greenville, SC. I also have acquaintance with Fay Adams of Tennessee through my own Suzuki teacher Ann Shurtz of Mechanicsburg, PA. I recently completed my graduate degree in piano pedagogy and have been teaching in Greenville, SC for about 3 years. Last year, I decided to seek out specified training in the Suzuki method, the method of my earliest years of piano study. Also, Japan, Japanese culture and educational philosophy are my passions. I have visited and lived abroad in Japan several times, and have also lectured on the piano works Japanese composers in graduate school. I am very excited to attend the world convention!!

I suspect I will probably be there the same days as you before heading to a few other locations in Japan for personal travel. If you still need a roommate, or know of anyone else who does, please feel free to put them in contact with me.

Do you have any idea how much I should budget per night for a shared hotel room? I know they mentioned on the site about certain places being “official” hotels that would have a shuttle to the convention. I didn’t see any information on where the specific hotels were or the names of the hotels. I am not familiar with Matsumoto, as most of my time was spent in Sendai, Fukushima, and Saitama.

Thanks!!
