The SAA Nominating Committee continually seeks candidates for SAA Board membership. The Board Nominating Committee encourages experienced teachers, parents and professionals who have legal, financial, marketing or administrative experience to seek nominations for the Board. These candidates should represent the SAA membership with vision and dedication to the Suzuki Philosophy.

If you would like to nominate a person (you may wish to nominate yourself) for the SAA Board, here are the criteria used for choosing candidates.

An individual who will:

  1. Steward the mission of the SAA
  2. Attend three 2-3-day meetings per year
  3. Be a productive and prepared board member
  4. Forgo simultaneous membership on any other national music organization’s board
    5 Serve on Board Committees as needed including volunteer work for the SAA
  5. Make an annual financial contribution to the SAA and to cultivate other funds for the SAA
  6. Have strong listening skills and work within a consensus model for decision making

  1. A letter of nomination from an active member
  2. Resume of the nominee
  3. Brief statement from the nominee highlighting reasons for interest in serving on the board
  4. Letter of reference
