Cheri Powers is a passionate music educator with a deep love for nurturing students of all abilities, including those who are gifted or have disabilities. She began playing piano at the age of eight, which laid the foundation for her lifelong musical journey. Over the years, she has learned and enjoyed playing a variety of instruments, including flute, recorder, tin whistle, tenor saxophone, marimba, guitar, and ukulele.
In addition to instrumental music, Cheri is an accomplished vocalist who has performed with several auditioned ensembles, including a memorable performance with the Denver Symphony. She also toured nationally and internationally with the Continental Singers. Cheri’s favorite performances were with women's vocal groups HeartStrings and The Three of Us, sharing music of many styles in senior centers and retirement communities.
Cheri brings over three years of classroom experience as a music educator and is dedicated to teaching with patience, creativity, and joy. She believes music should be accessible and rewarding for every learner.
