– This course will be offered online only
– Saturday and Sunday, July 20 and 21 (1-4 pm), plus M-Th, July 22-25 (5-6 pm)
– Enrichment course hours will not conflict with regular ASI class hours of 8-11 AM and 1-4 PM
– Visit the American Suzuki Institute website for course prerequisites and requirements
– $40 tuition rebate will be given to teachers who sign up for two Suzuki core units (SECE, Practicum, Enrichment, and Supplemental courses not included)
– $25 tuition rebate will be given to teachers who sign up for a Unit or Supplemental course and a 10-hour Enrichment course in the same week
[color=6823ae]**Special American Suzuki Foundation Rebate! **[/color]The American Suzuki Foundation is offering a number of $500 rebates for in-person training to offset the cost of room and board. – The unit you wish to study (preference given to Unit 1 participants)
– Why you want to attend ASI in person this summer
Dive into an innovative course for Suzuki educators with resources for teaching applied music theory to wind and string students through games, creative composition, and improvisation. Explore strategies for introducing chord theory with early arranging and composition skills using folk songs and popular music. The course will include: a structured pedagogy for music literacy benchmarks, applied activities for lessons and group classes, empowerment to create original arrangements for your multi-level groups, original and unpublished group arrangements by Salisbury/McLean, and a comprehensive teacher resource packet in PDF form. 10-hour SAA enrichment course, no observations required.
