This course prepares participants to teach the stage of violin study where students take on an expanded repertoire of sonatas and concertos. Participants examine how to guide students through longer, more structurally complex works while maintaining the tone and control built in earlier units.

Participants learn to develop refined bow control and more sophisticated phrasing across contrasting composers. The course covers how to break down stylistic differences between works, and how to sequence instruction so students build interpretive awareness alongside technical facility.

Participants also learn to build the stamina and concentration students need for extended movements at this stage, and how to guide interpretive maturity as pieces demand more musical judgment. The course addresses common challenges as students take on greater technical and stylistic scope, and how to troubleshoot them while keeping instruction encouraging and well-paced.
