Gretchen Paxson-Abberger

Gretchen Paxson-Abberger holds a bachelor of liberal arts from Bennington College, a bachelor in performance from the Manhattan School of Music, and a masters degree in Baroque Violin from the Mannes College of Music.

She earned a two-year training certificate from the School for Strings in New York working closely with Louise Behrend, and taught violin at the School for Strings and the Manhattan School of Music preparatory department. Further development was with Ronda Cole, Alan Lieb, Carey Beth Hockett, Brian Lewis, and Ed Sprunger. Gretchen teaches violin at the North York Suzuki School of Music and is the Artistic Director at the Miles Nadal jcc Suzuki Program in Toronto. She has been a guest workshop teacher in Toronto, and has also taught at the Southwest Ontario Suzuki Institute (SOSI). Gretchen founded Thanks to Dr. Suzuki Concert Performances.
