Cello Unit 5

To fully support its musical richness, our discussion of Unit 5 will focus on

1. Secure mastery of neck-position geography, reliable intonation, confident shifting, and a wide, expressive range of vibrato

2. Development of a broader palette of tone colors and more refined bow distribution, including nuanced control of bow speed to match character and style

3. Increased rhythmic complexity, requiring deeper internalization of pulse and the ability to shape rhythmic energy to serve musical style—not just accuracy
