TRAINER GUIDELINES SECTION:
Setting up the Course
- Maximum of 15 participants (in-person)
- Maximum 10 participants (online)
- Minimum two participants
- No auditors
- The current SAA registration fee is required for each participant to register the course. 100% attendance is necessary for such registration.
- Teacher Trainers are expected to have experience teaching SECE Stage One prior to teaching this course.
- The “Revisiting” format may only be offered for SECE Stage One. Not for SECE Stages 2-5
Format:
- 18 hours: 15 hours of class time plus 3 hours of SECE Baby/Toddler Demonstration Classes for observation, to be held in-person over a minimum of three days with no more than 6 hours per day.
- Four-day online format: lecture would entail a maximum of 4 hours per day, plus one hour of observation time, for a total of 4-5 online hours per day. Observations would be watched together as a class. One day would not require an observation
- hour. Note: The above format could be consecutive days or spread out over several weeks, thus allowing course participants to apply information between the sessions. It is also possible to spread the course out over more days or more weeks, i.e. 3-4 hours per day for 5 days,18 hours in total.
- May be offered at institutes, workshops, home studios or other venues, both in-person, online, or as a combination of in-person and online.
- Institutes may offer the course over 3-5 days within, before, or after the main institute events.
- Format includes lecture, small group discussion, SECE Baby/Toddler class observation, and demonstration of the class activities, teaching points and the Seven Concepts. TWPs will be given opportunities to lead activities in the SECE Baby/Toddler demonstration classes when possible.
Observations:
- A minimum of three hours of SECE demonstration Baby/Toddler Classes is required for TWP observation and/or participation.
- The entire three hours of class observation time will be a shared experience with the trainer and all the participants, regardless of the venue (live, online, recorded, etc.).
- Demonstration classes for observation may be live-in-person, recorded-in-person, live-online, and/or recorded-online. The combination of types
- of classes will be at the discretion of the trainer.
- Demonstration classes will include at least one example of an entire one-hour class of “Week One” curriculum and an entire one-hour class of “Week Two” curriculum.
Pre-Course and Post-Course Questionnaire:
● A pre-course questionnaire will be sent by the SECE Trainer to all TWPs to be
completed prior to the course. Responses from the SAA pre-course
questionnaire will assist the Trainer in planning the course.
● A post-course questionnaire will be sent by the SECE Trainer to all TWPS to be
completed after taking the course.
● The Trainer is encouraged to contact participants directly in advance of the
course with any additional information or expectations.

- Musical integrity
- A brief introduction to prenatal music stimulation
- Parent Education
- Discussion of a minimum of three hours of Baby/Toddler Class observation/demonstration classes
