Gay has been teaching piano for more years than she would like to admit. Her Suzuki teacher training, begun in the 1990’s, has been with Mary Craig Powell in Columbus. Although she is now a full-time piano teacher and performer, she has also spent many years teaching music in public and parochial schools. She has a Bachelor’s in Music and a Master’s degree in Piano Performance in jazz.
She performs with her own jazz trio (The Gay Galvin Trio) and with local big bands. As a natural outgrowth of her love of jazz, she also teaches improvisation in addition to Suzuki and traditional Classical music.
