On June 26 listeners to Radio Canada International (RCI) in Canada and around the world heard some news about Suzuki teaching and the upcoming Montréal Institute. Suzuki mom Lynn Desjardins is a reporter with a program called “The Link.” Every day host Marc Montgomery presents a staff music pick at the end of the program. Lynn chose to talk about the Suzuki method and how it works. She described going to the Montréal Institute for 12 years and watching children of all ages enjoy rich musical experiences and have lots of fun. She talked about the teens playing with the younger children, and their opportunities to play in orchestra and advanced chamber groups. Her music pick was a flute quartet by Eugene Bozza which her daughter, Shannon Bouchard will play along with three long-time flute friends this July. You can hear “The Link” on the RCI site.
