Hello! I am Michiko Yurko, a SAA Teacher Trainer and an independent Suzuki piano teacher living in Kensington, Maryland. I have been teaching for 38 years and love it. I am the creator of a published method of teaching music theory and reading using games called Music Mind Games. There is more information at www.musicmindgames.com. I have been fortunate to travel to many countries and states to teach at music workshops, lead teacher training courses and speak at conventions. I have met many wonderful children, parents and teachers through my travels. I am the author of Music Mind Games, Musopoly, No H in Snake, the Puppy Packet, the Panda Packs and joint author of Teaching Suzuki Piano: Ten Teacher’s Viewpoints. I am featured in “Who’s Who in America”, “Who’s Who in American Education” and “Who’s Who in American Women”. I enjoy being a Suzuki teacher because I love Dr. Suzuki’s philosophies and classical music. Teaching children and their parents the joys of learning how to play the piano with confidence and musicality continues to give me inspiration and quality of life.
