Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival brings together young string musicians from around the U.S. and also overseas with professional string teachers from many conservatories and universities to work together for a month in Colchester, Vermont. The second GMCMF Suzuki Institute offers Suzuki Teacher Training courses from July 21-29, 2024, on the campus of Saint Michael’s College. To register, please fill out this form.

GMCMFSI participants may elect to stay on the campus of Saint Michael’s College during their teacher training for an additional $80 charge per night, which includes three meals each day at the on-campus dining hall. Participants are also welcome to find housing on their own and will have the option to pay for lunch in the dining hall on campus ($13). Please contact [javascript protected email address] with any questions.

Recreation

The area of Burlington, accessible by bus from SMC’s campus, offers a rich variety of activities. In downtown Burlington, visit the historic Church Street Marketplace, eight pedestrian-only blocks where locals and tourists gather to shop, dine, and enjoy street entertainers and people-watching. The Burlington Waterfront is also a great place to walk, watch boaters, or eat ice cream while sitting on a swinging bench. You can rent bikes or kayaks or visit the Echo Lake Aquarium and Science Center. Additionally, the Burlington Bike Path is a 7.5 mile paved trail alongside Burlington’s downtown lakeshore that links six major waterfront parks.
