Trainer Information
A highly active sololist, chamber musician and teacher, Katie Lansdale has toured the US and Europe for over 25 years with her internationally acclaimed chamber group, the Lions Gate Trio. Grand prize winner at the Yellow Spring and Fischoff National Chamber Competitions, she performs regularly in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall with the Festival Chamber Society. Invited to present solo Bach at Juilliard’s 2014 Delay Symposium, she directs the Promisek Bach workshops. With degrees from Yale, Cleveland Institute and Manhattan School of Music, Lansdale studied with Donald Weilerstain, Felix Galimir, and Josef Gingold, and, as a child, with Suzuki teacher Ronda Cole. She has often presented master classes, Bach seminars and enrichment courses at Suzuki institutes/workshops. Summer festivals have included Kneisel Hall, Aria International, Tanglewood’s BUTI program, and Brian Lewis’ Young Artist Program. She teaches at the Hartt School and the Boston Conservatory.
