What will be discussed? The importance of consistency in bow hold; flexibility of bow hold; development of both on and off-the-string strokes to continue to acquire proficiency. These strokes will be emphasized: detache; martele; double-bowing; sautille; spiccato; down-bow and up-bow staccato; colle. Strategies for working on and teaching these strokes will be discussed, as well as helpful material/repertoire that can be used to this end.
