Trainer Information

Since his debut recital as a cellist, Paul Pulford has pursued a career in chamber music, teaching, conducting and as a soloist. He currently holds the position of Professor of Cello and Director of Orchestral Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, where he is also the Associate Dean in the Faculty of Music.

In addition to Laurier, Pulford has held teaching positions at a number of Canadian schools, including Acadia University, Memorial University and The Banff Centre. He has been a frequent instructor in the Young Artists’ Program at the Southern Ontario Suzuki Institute and has given master classes throughout Canada. His students are often members of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada and have won national prizes at the Kiwanis Festival and the Michael Measures/Canada Council Award.
