Organization Detail

We are a strings institute in Southcentral Alaska (Anchorage) that started in 1995. SASA’s mission is to support music education for teachers, parents, and children of all ages.  Our goal is to enrich young lives through music, thereby enriching our community and society for the benefit of all. SASA is run entirely by volunteers and is overseen by a Volunteer board. The majority of music education activities are overseen by the our board and director who also organize their respective aspects of the summer institutes. Currently the Anchorage area is home to 12 accredited Suzuki teachers and hundreds of their students. Local Suzuki music instruction is offered in piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar and flute. We will be holding an in person institute for the summer of 2025.
