Community School of the Arts (CSA) at Wheaton College seeks a part-time Suzuki / Preparatory Piano Instructor. Established in 1970, CSA is a vibrant community music school serving over 600 students. The 26 CSA faculty offer instruction in Suzuki, Preparatory, Early Childhood, Special Needs (Beethoven’s Buddies), Chamber Music, and Community Outreach for Developing Artists (CODA) programs.

Duties:

Teach weekly individual and group lessons. Assist with organization of student concerts, recitals, performances, and school promotional programs.
Initial teaching load is approximately 10 students, however, there is potential to expand based on candidate’s interest and availability.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, Collaborative Piano or Music Education and 3 years teaching experience. Registered Suzuki training up through Book 3 preferred and/or agreement to further Suzuki training. Must be willing to work in a team environment. Teaching and performing in person (or video submission) may be requested after initial resume is reviewed.

Salary:

CSA faculty are part-time employees and are paid at an hourly rate based on training level and years of experience.
