A historic Suzuki school that has modeled excellence and commitment to Suzuki education for over 60 years. We offer violin, viola, and cello lessons with 7 unique faculty members who meet regularly to exchange ideas and deepen their skills together. We operate with a non-profit model and offer need-based scholarships to families in our community. ISME faculty perform in the community and the broader upstate region.
Duties:
Duties include joining SAA registered teacher trainer Zachary Sweet to lead the cello program, starting with a guarantee of 10 hours a week and then growing your own studio to preferred size. Teach cello group classes on Saturday morning. Opportunity to teach Music Together classes and receive Music Together Teacher Training. Collaborate with incredible Suzuki faculty through monthly faculty meetings and school events. Our administrative staff streamlines student registration and logistics so you can focus on teaching and building relationships with your students.
Qualifications:
Music degree and SAA registration in Cello Units 1-4 required.
Registration in Units 5 and above is highly desirable. Candidates must be committed to Suzuki philosophy, with well developed nurturing and communication skills. Teamwork, organization, and an interest in developing the cello program is essential.
Salary:
Competitive hourly rate, free participation in all ISME offered teacher training, continuing education stipend. Rate ranges available on request.
