This course prepares participants to teach the stage of violin study where students consolidate earlier positions and take on more demanding shifting across the fingerboard. Participants examine how to build accuracy and ease in this expanded range of motion, while preserving the tone and security established in earlier units.

Participants learn to teach ensemble and duet playing, along with a broader stylistic range than in previous units. The course covers how to develop greater bow control for sustained tone and dynamic contrast, and how to sequence these skills so students gain expressive range without sacrificing technical control.

Participants also learn to guide students through more demanding, extended repertoire at this stage, and how to troubleshoot common challenges that arise as pieces grow longer and more technically involved, while keeping instruction encouraging and well-paced.
