This 15-hour course is designed for teachers who have completed Suzuki Violin Unit 1 training and are ready to deepen their understanding of the Suzuki method. Participants will focus on Book 2 repertoire, including technical and musical development, tone production, and fostering strong foundational skills in students.
Through class discussions, lesson analysis, and hands-on activities, teachers will:
- Explore teaching points for each piece in Suzuki Violin Book 2.
- Refine their ability to analyze and address common technical challenges.
- Learn to nurture student musicianship, including phrasing, tone quality, and technique.
- Discuss strategies for parent-teacher-student collaboration and fostering a positive learning environment.
Under Ruth’s guidance, participants will refine their teaching strategies, explore advanced concepts in Suzuki pedagogy, and gain valuable insights into fostering technical and musical growth in their students. Ruth brings decades of experience as a violinist, pedagogue, and innovator in music education, including the creation of the award-winning String Sprouts program. Her ability to blend the Suzuki philosophy with cutting-edge neuroscience makes her workshops challenging, motivational, and uniquely impactful.
