Presented with dual-delivery (Some take course fully online, some take it fully in-person).

The Unit One course is your first step to specific training in the Suzuki method. We will dive deep into Book 1 focusing on set up and every piece found in Book 1 as well as pre-twinkle repertoire.

We will also explore foundational teaching techniques that you will need to implement and communicate both pedagogical and relational ideas to both students and their caregivers.

Prerequisites:

  • Completion and registration of Every Child Can! © Course
  • Read or reread the appendix to Every Child Can course manual
  • Successful completion of SAA required audition, see www.suzukiassociation.org
  • Current SAA active membership
  • Fluent, expressive performance of the course repertoire, memorization strongly recommended
  • Purchase of Suzuki Violin Method Book 1 International edition. Every participant will need a clean copy of this book.
  • Reading list:
    • Before Class: Suzuki, Shinichi. Nurtured by Love. Revised Edition
    • During Class: Goodner Christine. Beyond The Music Lesson
