Group Class String Teaching

This enrichment session will explore practical and creative approaches to group class teaching. Through ensemble activities, rhythm games, movement, listening exercises, and collaborative music-making, participants will discover ways to build musicality, confidence, concentration, and community within the group setting. The class will include plenty of hands-on participation and ideas that can be adapted for different ages, instruments, and levels.
Carey Beth Hockett is a cello teacher, teacher trainer, and composer who has worked with Suzuki teachers and students internationally for many years. She is especially known for her work in group class teaching and enjoys helping teachers create classes that are both educational and joyful.
