Welcome to this new 10-hour course from Dr. Merlin B. Thompson. The full name of the course is From Mother Tongue to Modern Teaching: Expanding Your Suzuki Foundation with 21st Century Teaching Tools

Specifically designed for all instrumental and vocal Suzuki teachers, this course will help you to confidently navigate the challenges of 21st century music studio teaching – while staying rooted in the nurturing principles that define the Suzuki approach. Whether you’re an experienced or novice Suzuki teacher, the goal of From Mother Tongue to Modern Teaching is to broaden your teaching approach by interweaving foundational elements of Suzuki teaching with today’s most effective teaching tools and strategies.

The following timely themes provide structure for this enrichment course: 21st Century Teaching Mindset, Curriculum Models, Communication, Practicing Principles, Real Life Families, and Listening.

This course is for Suzuki teachers who have completed ECC and Unit 1, experienced Suzuki teachers seeking to refresh and expand your practice, novice Suzuki teachers looking to build confidence with modern teaching tools, and Suzuki teachers interested in blending traditional methods with current pedagogical thinking.
