Member Class & Price Updates for Fiscal Year 2027
As outlined in the SAA Strategic Plan, a key goal of the SAA Board of Directors is to ensure our membership classes better reflect and serve our intended member community. To support this objective, we are updating our membership classes to align with the Suzuki teachers, administrators, parents, guardians, families, learners, and organizations we represent. Membership dues will also increase slightly beginning August 1, 2026. Our last fee increase occurred in 2024. Please read the information below to learn about exceptions, discounts, and how to request financial assistance.
As part of this process, we are excited to announce a new Referral Program, which will offer SAA credit to Professional Members, Institutes, and Chapters. Learn more below. In the coming months, we will continue to build on this program and find new ways to improve members’ experience. While our work is not finished, we are excited to begin meeting members’ needs more effectively and to continue expanding our offerings and membership base.
Effective August 1, 2026, our new membership classes and fees will be updated per the information below.

Patron Membership | Patrons and donors of the SAA | $300 (no price change) | Receive all Professional Member benefits while making a contribution that helps sustain and strengthen the SAA. Patron Members and donors play a vital role in advancing the organization’s mission and may be eligible for special events and recognition opportunities throughout the year. |
Lifetime Membership | Individuals who are ready to make a lasting commitment to the SAA community. | $2,500 (+$300) | Lifetime Members receive all the benefits of Professional Membership without the need for annual renewals. |
Associate → Friends & Family | Parents, practice partners, guardians, family members, retired Suzuki teachers, and those who are currently Associate members | $50 (no price change) | Quarterly journal, Suzuki Video Library, Member Directory, discounts on Suzuki books through Alfred Music, and more. |

Note: There are no changes to Chapter headcount fees, Teacher Training fees, or any fees not listed.
Discounts
- Full-Time Students can become Professional Members for $55 USD (no price change). Please write [email protected] for more information.
- Eligibility may be subject to annual review
- New Members get $10 off the first year of membership. Please write [email protected] for more information.
- After the first year, members will be charged at the full rate associated with the selected membership.
- SMMC/SAA Joint Membership: Members who sign up for the SAA & Suzuki Music/Musique Canada can pay a flat fee of $175 CAD for DUAL membership, and will only pay $84 USD for SAA membership.
- Please note: Additional fees may apply. Check with your bank to understand relevant fees.
- We understand that for some, cost may present a financial barrier for SAA membership. We also understand that those members who will renew in August will have had significantly less time to prepare for the change. If cost presents a barrier to SAA membership, please write to us at [email protected] to learn more about alternative payment options.

- No action is needed if you plan to renew this year
- If you are on an automatic subscription, please note pricing will change automatically. You will be charged on the date of your automatic renewal.
- You can cancel your subscription or check on your subscription status at any time by visiting your Membership Billing page. Go to your profile, and select Billing. Simply select cancel if you’d like to cancel your membership. You can also write to us at [email protected].
NEW: Referral Benefits
Beginning in mid-August, Professional Members, Institutes, and Chapters are eligible to earn SAA credits for SAA Member referrals! Further details will be shared in the coming weeks. Check the SAA website in August for further information.
How it Works:
Professional Members, Institutes, and Chapters can now earn SAA credit for referring Suzuki families to the SAA when they sign up for a Friends & Family membership. Each Professional Member, Institute, and Chapter will receive a unique referral code they can share with parents, friends, or families who might be interested in the SAA. Friends & Family members get access to all benefits listed in the table above, and new members receive $10 off in their first year of membership. See details below.
Professional Members: Bring 5 Friends & Family members to the SAA and receive a $20 credit to use toward course registration, applications, auditions, or Teacher Training Fees. New Friends & Family members will receive $10 off their membership when they use your code. For every 5 referrals you bring to the SAA, you get another $20 credit. Institutes: Bring 20 Friends & Family members to the SAA, and we will waive your student headcount fees. Stay tuned for details on how to access your unique referral code, and apply your credits!
Chapters: Bring 10 Friends & Family members to the SAA and we will waive your per-person member fees. Stay tuned for details on how to access your unique referral code and apply your credits!
