The Hochstein Schools seeks a full-time instructor of Suzuki and traditional cello to provide individual lessons and Suzuki group classes to students ages 3 – adult. Additional opportunities may be available for chamber music coaching.
Duties:
Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoon/evening hours for individual lessons and chamber coaching; Saturdays for group classes, followed by individual lessons and chamber coaching. Additional days/times may be added based on enrollment. The full schedule will start in September.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Music degree (required), Master of Music degree (preferred); Suzuki cello teacher training through Book 3; Minimum 3 years teaching experience, including experience with beginners as well as with students of various ages/levels; experience coaching chamber music
Salary:
Compensation: hourly, depending on qualifications/experience. This is a benefits-eligible position. The School will guarantee a minimum of 20 hours per week for the 36-week school-year term and the 6-week summer session. There is opportunity for growth beyond the 20-hour schedule.
