For over 30 years The North Carolina Suzuki Institute (NCSI) has provided an opportunity to study the philosophy and teaching of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki. The institute is held on the campus of East Carolina University, utilizing the facilities of the A.J. Fletcher Music Center. The University is located in Greenville, NC and is close to popular family vacation destinations including the Crystal Coast and the Outer Banks.

Student Fees

  • Student Institute (all levels) $450
  • Enrichments (fiddling, chamber music, advanced repertoire, viola 4 violinists) $50/class
  • Pre-Twinkle Day Camp (9-12pm July 7 and 8 only) $100

Teacher Fees

  • Unit 1 $600
  • Every Child Can! (flat fee) $100

Housing & Meals

Housing is available in a university suite-style dormitory (College Hill Suites). Meals are available in the dining hall adjacent to the dormitory (Todd Dining Hall).

Violin Unit 1: Teacher Development (Lodging for 8 nights)

  • Double Room $300/person (does NOT include meal plan)
  • Private Room $400 (does NOT include meal plan)

Student Institute (Lodging for 6 nights)

  • Double Room $200/person (does NOT include meal plan)

Meal Plans:

  • Weekly Meal Plan $200/person

Meals are also available “pay as you go”


The University is located in Greenville, NC and is close to family vacation centers such as Atlantic Beach, Cape Hatteras, and other points of historical interest. An institute activity is scheduled each evening.
