Viola/Violin Strategies

While technical and musical excellence is very important, my greatest goal in teaching music is to bring joy and passion into their playing. I want teachers to find their voice in a way that helps them elevate their students to the highest level of performance possible and to bring joy and ease into their teaching.

In this class, we get to observe one another teach and learn from one another, which talking about what ways we can enhance our teaching skills.

Each participant brings 2 recordings of 6-10 minutes each. At least one of the recordings should be of an individual lesson. In some situations, longer lesson clips may be shown.

How do talk less and play more

Practice assignments

Age/level appropriate goals

Practice strategies and challenges

Student motivation

Parent/student/teacher relationships

Community involvement
