Keeping Our Eyes Open: Observation in Our SECE Classes and Beyond

Dr. Suzuki was an excellent observer of children. In our SECE classes and instrumental lessons, we not only observe our students on a very detailed level, but we also teach the parents how to observe their children in a unique way. In this course we will hone our observation techniques and explore strategies to teach the parents how to observe their children in positive and productive ways.

Prerequisite: SECE Stage 1 or any instrumental Unit 1.

Course meets 11 AM-1 PM CDT, Monday 7/21 through Friday 7/25

• This course will be offered online
• Enrichment course hours will not conflict with regular ASI class hours of 8-11 AM and 1-4 PM CDT
• Visit the American Suzuki Institute website for course prerequisites and requirements
• $40 tuition rebate will be given to teachers who sign up for two Suzuki core units (SECE, Practicum, Enrichment, Teaching Strategies, and Supplemental courses not included)
• $25 tuition rebate will be given to teachers who sign up for a Unit or Supplemental course and a 10-hour Enrichment or Teaching Strategies course in the same week
• Scholarships are available. The American Suzuki Foundation is offering a number of $1,000 scholarships for in-person training. Scholarship applications will be available on the ASI website in February
