Hi all,

My name is Adam Riggs and I started cello with Sally Gross at the Suzuki String School of Guelph back in 1987 or 1988. Having just completed my DMA at University of Colorado, I decided that I really wanted to get back to my roots and finally started my teacher training, and am currently studying with Carol Tarr in the Suzuki Pedagogy Certificate Program at the University of Denver.

The reason I write to all of you is after spending a week this past summer with th great Rick Mooney, I was inspired to make arrange a new accompaniment part for the twinkle variations based loosely from Mozart’s Twinkle Variations. Feel free to use this accompaniment part with your students and please pass this on to whomever you feel might find it usefull!! Thanks so much and enjoy!

Thanks!

… and would you be willing to transpose it for the violist? (I’m assuming you’ve got that in some kind of music notation/engraving software, and would be able to just hit a few keys and transpose up an octave and change to alto clef? ;-)

Hi Jennifer,

Here is a copy of the Twinkle Accompaniment for viola AND violin :) I actually noticed that there was a mistake in the cello part that I posted a while ago, so I’m including that one as well, which is now correct! Enjoy and happy twinkling!!!

Hi Jennifer,

I’ve been having a lot of problems uploading recently, so can I get your email so I can give you the music for viola?

Thanks so very much, Adam. This is a great addition to what Rick Mooney has already provided all of us searching for ways to begin, for ways to support these crucial Twinkle lessons and graduations. I LOVE this very Mozart infused voice leading, and will feel indebted to you each time I use this accompaniment.

Best wishes for your DU certification, and hope to see you again performing with Boulder Phil. —Anne
