Teaching Strategies

Multi-Step Signup

February 8, 2027 - February 22, 2027

$320.00
Presented online.

This course is built around the SAA Pedagogy Descriptors, the framework the Association uses to define excellent Suzuki teaching. Participants prepare and share recorded teaching segments from their own lessons, then use the descriptors to observe, assess, and discuss what’s working well and where there’s room to grow.

Each class functions as a pedagogy masterclass: participants watch recordings together, receive specific positive feedback on strengths, and are given a focused suggestion for improvement, with an emphasis on identifying the one adjustment that will make the biggest difference in a teacher’s practice. The course builds the skills of observation and self-assessment alongside the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.

Participants also learn to apply the Pedagogy Descriptors as an ongoing self-evaluation tool beyond the course itself, supporting continued growth as they move into more advanced units. Teaching Strategies is a prerequisite before beginning Unit 3.

How to Enroll

You must be logged in to your SAA account and have Active/Professional Membership to join the course roster below.

Scroll down to the bottom of this page to the enrollment box, click “+”, then click “get tickets”. Follow the prompts to pay the nonrefundable deposit for this course.

After getting tickets below, you’ll receive a confirmation email from the SAA. You’ll also be able to verify your enrollment on your profile under Upcoming Courses.

If the enrollment box isn’t visible and you only see the waitlist option, it means you’re missing a course prerequisite on your training profile (Unit 1).
