Teaching Transfer Students: Practical Strategies for Successful Transitions
Transfer students can be some of the most rewarding—and most challenging—students we teach. Every new family brings different expectations, habits, strengths, and questions.
This course offers a practical framework for integrating transfer students into your studio with clarity and confidence. We’ll discuss assessment, rebuilding technique, developing repertoire, supporting reading and ear training, communicating effectively with parents, and creating a positive studio culture that helps students feel successful from the very beginning.
Designed for both Suzuki and traditional piano teachers, this course emphasizes relationship-building, thoughtful observation, and sustainable long-term growth.
Five sessions, three hours in length each, over Zoom. Includes asynchronous video observation each week.
