Scotia Suzuki School of Music is one of Atlantic Canada’s largest and most vibrant Suzuki schools, serving 250+ students across violin, piano, cello, guitar, voice, and early childhood programs in the heart of Halifax, Nova Scotia. We are a warm, collaborative team of 25+ teachers who are deeply committed to the Suzuki philosophy and to each other. Halifax is a lively, beautiful coastal city with a rich arts community, affordable cost of living, and outstanding quality of life. We have a current teacher leaving to pursue their Masters and have a full studio of students.

Duties:
Teach private Suzuki violin lessons to students primarily beginning in Book 1, with potential for higher-level students depending on training
Participate in weekly group violin classes and school-wide ensemble activities
Attend school concerts, events, and teacher meetings
Collaborate closely with our head violin teacher and school director
Support and communicate regularly with student families in the Suzuki parent-involvement model
Qualifications:
SAA-registered Suzuki violin training, Book 1 minimum required; higher book levels strongly preferred
Experience teaching children using the Suzuki method
A genuine love of teamwork, community, and mentorship
Strong work ethic and enthusiasm for growing within a collaborative school environment
Entry-level teachers with exceptional drive and passion for the Suzuki philosophy are welcome to apply
Salary:
Competitive, commensurate with training level and experience. Full-time position with a built and growing student roster.
